Wonton Miracles 4: Fried Pastry with Feta Cheese (Kizarmis Peynirli Borek)

This is my fourth recipe for easier Turkish meals using wonton wraps: Fried Pastry with Feta Cheese.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 package wonton wrappers (about 25 pieces)
- Oil for frying
For the Filling:
- 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup parsley, finely chopped
Optional: cayenne pepper or paprika, other fresh herbs you like (mint, dill, basil, green onion etc.)

Directions:

  1. Mix the filling ingredients well.
  2. Place a wonton wrapper on a lightly floured flat surface. Brush each side with water. Place 1 or 2 teaspoons filling in the center, towards the upper corner (put just enough filling to fold and seal). Fold in half into a triangle. (stop on the third step in this picture). Press the edges of the triangle with the tip of a fork to seal well. Place each piece on a flat surface.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet. Fry in batches until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve hot or warm as an appetizer or a snack.
